WORKOUT OR YOGA:
Exercise regularly or do some yoga daily as doing so keeps your nervous system relaxed and it also helps to lower down your stress-producing hormones and working out will also keep your blood pressure and heart rate normal. You can opt for an exercise that you can enjoy and this can help you to lower down your stress levels. Exercising regularly also keeps your body toned and it also induces good sleep.
DEEP BREATHING AND MINDFULNESS:
Breathing exercise helps to send signals to your nervous system in case of stress and anxiety that activates your parasympathetic nervous system that helps to lower down the stress levels. One can practice guided meditation or controlled breathing exercises too. This not only helps you to control your stress but also keeps your mind and body healthy as things are under control when you are not in an alarming state or you don’t feel anxious.
SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE YOU LOVE:
When you spend time with people you feel you belong to or that they support you or care for you it helps you to be happy and keeps your mind in a relaxed state. It is also said that spending time with children and close friends helps to release oxytocin hormone in females, i.e. a stress reliever. So plan activities and spend quality time with your loved ones to be stress-free.
DO NOT PROCRASTINATE:
Planning out all your tasks beforehand can help you to work in a systematic way and you can get over your projects or tasks on time without any trouble. When you are not able to complete your work on time it causes stress and this can be controlled by prioritizing what is to be done first and also by making a to-do list as to what you have to do and assigning time to all the tasks. Don’t delay your work, rather make a structure, set a time limit to your projects, and follow that.
CREATE A PEACEFUL AMBIENCE:
You can keep scented candles, or use essential oil diffusers in your room as they help to create a calming effect in your mind and body. Also, you can listen to slow-paced music and even nature sounds that can also lower your stress levels and help you to sleep properly at night. You can put a plant in your room and can decorate your room with small lights and create a cozy and comfortable aura in your room that helps to calm you down.
CUT DOWN YOUR CAFFEINE INTAKE:
Caffeine is a stimulant that induces stress and anxiety if consumed in large amounts. Tea, coffee, chocolates all contain caffeine in different amounts. So in case, you feel that you get anxious or jittery while consuming products that have caffeine in them then you need to cut it down and consume it in moderation to stay happy and healthy.
